'High level of demand' for first-time mortgages
Those looking to purchase a home for the first-time might have noted news that a greater number of people now appear to be getting their mortgage application approved than in previous months.
Helen Adams, managing director of FirstRungNow.com, responded to news from John Charcol that demand among those looking to become a homeowner is at its highest level since February.
"It definitely suggests that things are easing a little bit," she said.
Ms Adams went on to observe: "Lenders seem to be lending slightly more readily and I would like to think that this trend will continue."
Furthermore, the expert highlighted how property prices appear to be reaching a plateau, which may make it easier for consumers to get their hands on their desired residence.
That said, the Chartered Institute of Housing recently suggested that the golden age of homeownership has come to a halt, with the rental market potentially having room for expansion.
