Barrister's wife wins £215,000 divorce settlement

The wife of a high-profile barrister has been awarded £215,000 in a divorce settlement, despite the separation occurring 25 years ago.
David Vaughan had been paying his former spouse Philippa £27,175 a year in maintenance fees, but this was cancelled in 2009.
The art historian said she suffered "undue hardship" following a High Court ruling to stop the payments, which Mr Vaughan had pursued due to his wage reducing after retirement.
She currently lives in a £1 million house based in Hammersmith, while her ex-husband - who is worth approximately £5 million - remarried and resides in North Kensington.
Commenting after the hearing, Ms Vaughan said: "He refused to negotiate compensation and I found myself drawn into this against my will. I am relieved that finally justice has prevailed."
Nicolas Granatino, the son of a French millionaire, is currently contesting a Court of Appeal decision that a pre-nuptial agreement signed between him and his former wife Katrin Radmacher is binding.
