BIBA calls on government to stop rising car insurance prices
Posted by Patrick White
The government must do more in order to help stifle the increasing cost of motor insurance in the UK, an organisation has stated.
According to the British Insurance Brokers' Association (BIBA), the Conservative-Liberal Democrat alliance should implement an eight-point plan to make sure the cost of maintaining a car does not spiral out of control.
BIBA has submitted a document to the government detailing its blueprint on how it would go about ensuring this does not happen.
Graeme Trudgill, head of corporate affairs at BIBA, commented: "We believe that signposting customers, particularly young drivers, to a source of help is a vital part of the solution to access affordable insurance."
The organisation pointed to steps such as the introduction of a Continuous Insurance Enforcement, increased regulation of price comparison websites and a potential overhaul of the driving test system.
Meanwhile, the AA recently warned drivers to be wary of potholes following a sustained period of adverse weather in the UK.
