Britons seeking employment in the aftermath of the global economic downturn need to make sure they are in the right frame of mind if their search is to be successful.

That is according to Kirsty Burgess of human resources consultancy Reabur, who believes it is essential for people wanting to get a job to have an upbeat outlook on their prospects.

Recent figures published by the Office for National Statistics revealed that unemployment rose to a rate of 7.9 per cent in the three-month period leading up to July.

This figure may affect the confidence of anyone currently looking for chances to obtain a position, but Ms Burgess urged people in this difficult situation to keep faith in their abilities and remain positive at all times.

"A negative approach to job hunting and a negative self-perception will be seen by employers and means that chances of success are further reduced," she added. ADNFCR-2353-ID-800730424-ADNFCR
