Buy-to-let investors 'becoming more evident'

Ylr-news-800042400

A higher number of buy-to-let investors have been active in the home buying market in the last few months than compared with earlier years, it has been suggested.

According to Malcolm Harrison, a property industry expert, the private rented sector has expanded by more than was previously expected.

He said: "The nub of what makes investment in rental property interesting is - is there a market out there? The answer to that is yes, there very much is."

Mr Harrison added that it is likely there will be greater numbers of tenants in five or ten years than there are today.

In fact, having a long term view of property market trends could be an important way of making the right decisions in terms of affordability.

According to recent research from LSL Property Services, 42 per cent of landlords consider now to be an opportune moment to invest in a residence.
