Despite the acrimony and emotional upheaval associated with divorce, it could be said that the process can be a positive commitment in the long-term and give people a new lease of life.

A piece in the Telegraph by Lucy Cavendish highlighted the story of a variety of women whose experience of breaking off with their partner had varying degrees of success.

She wrote: "There are many women ... for whom divorce has been a positive experience."

For instance, Ms Cavendish cited the story of Gillian, 35, who discovered her husband was having an affair.

This "completely eroded the possibility of repairing the marriage," the ex-wife told the reporter.

Gillian added that on the plus side, she is now a different person and is optimistic that her next partner will provide a more positive experience.

Elsewhere, it could be said that more couples are choosing to identify a new home to start a family, after the Council of Mortgage Lenders announced that property purchase lending recently went up for the 11th consecutive month.ADNFCR-2353-ID-19897142-ADNFCR
