Car insurance 'essential regardless of cost'

Young motorists must not be tempted to avoid taking out car insurance to save cash.

That is according to Steve Chilton, claims manager at the Swinton Group, who has urged people to make sure they are adequately protected by an effective vehicle cover plan, regardless of the financial commitment involved.

Research published recently by Swinton established that around 95 per cent of Britons feel that the high cost of insurance is having an overtly negative impact on their social lives.

For instance, almost 28 per cent believe the price of cover is preventing them from buying new clothes or going on holiday.

However, Mr Chilton insisted that taking out a policy is "absolutely critical".

"The fact is, if you are going to drive a car, you need to be insured, there are no two ways around it unfortunately," he added.

In addition, the expert also called on drivers not to get behind the wheel of a vehicle they are not insured on. ADNFCR-2353-ID-801241676-ADNFCR
