An appeal launched by a coach driver against a "disgraceful" parking ticket has been rejected.

According to the Manchester Evening News, Terence Gomm was penalised to the tune of £35 for exceeding parking time limits outside a swimming baths in Ashton by less than 60 seconds.

Mr Gomm claims the only reason he was in situ for slightly too long was because he rushed into the leisure centre to hand kit to a schoolchild who had left their belongings on his vehicle after dropping pupils off there.

The 47-year-old noted he was away from his coach for a "matter of moments" but came back to find a warden had issued a penalty notice in this time.

Tony King, owner of Kings Coaches - the company for which Mr Gomm works - told the news source his appeal had been turned down by Tameside Council, meaning he has had to pay the fine. He labelled the incident a "total injustice".

This comes after the Daily Mail reported a disabled pensioner was recently given a parking ticket on his motor scooter in Hertfordshire.
