Community service for truck driver after parking space row
A man who attacked his neighbours following a row over parking spaces has been ordered to complete 100 hours of community service.
Phillip Anthony James of Ammanford assaulted Barry Bryan and Scott Jenkins earlier this year after a feud in which James claimed a parked car had been blocking access to his property, the South Wales Guardian reports.
As well as being sentenced to carry out unpaid work, James - who pleaded guilty to assaulting Mr Bryan and was found guilty of the attack on Mr Jenkins - was ordered to pay £75 in compensation to Mr Jenkins and a further £600 in court costs.
Defending, Richard Evans told Ammanford magistrates that James "accepts that he did overstep the mark and that matters seem to have got out of hand".
It comes after 74-year-old June Iddon was fined nearly £18,000 in damages and costs after hitting neighbour Jeffrey Grundy with a spade following a four-year boundary dispute, the Southport Visiter reported.
