Consumers 'can save money on oil'
Posted by Emily Swanson
Consumers struggling with the rising cost of fuel in the current economic climate have an option to help reduce their bills.
That is according to Chris Brown, founder and director of the Oil Club, who has urged homeowners to be more proactive in their attempts to cut their spending on fuel.
Speaking to the BBC's Wake Up to Money podcast, Mr Brown said people should consider joining the Oil Club due to the financial benefits membership can provide.
This independent scheme was set up recently with the aim of providing bulk purchase oil for consumers in order to help both drive down their expenses and the environment.
Mr Brown explained the process is "very simple" and can make a "big, big difference" to people's outgoings.
"One member that joined recently was paying 80 pence per litre, when the current club rate is about 57 pence per litre," he noted.
