Consumers 'must plan ahead financially'
Posted by Francesca Witney
Consumers should make sure they are ready to expect the unexpected when it comes to their personal finances.
That is the opinion of Mark Bower, managing director of online resource Money Maxim, who believes it is vital for Britons to plan ahead and make provisions with their funds in the current uncertain economic climate.
Mr Bower explained that there is a wide range of options open to people wanting to provide themselves with some security and certainty moving forward, despite the fact the government is making numerous changes and reductions to the welfare bill.
"This inevitably will mean that individuals and families will need to rely on their own resources and plan more to ensure they can cope with the unexpected," he noted.
Recently, Carole Spiers, chief executive of the Carole Spiers Group, urged anyone struggling with debt to avoid the temptation of burying their head in the sand, as this will only make the problem worse.
