Demand for housing 'has remained despite recession'
Posted by Mark Cunningham
Consumers have remained eager to purchase a property in the UK in recent times, even though the country continues to feel the effects of a severe recession.
That is according to Darren Owen, director at Property & Finance Solutions, who believes despite the fact the housing sector has faced a tough period, demand in terms of purchasing a home has stayed in place.
Mr Owen explained that the situation in the market is becoming even more positive for those wishing to invest, but added that a crucial determining factor in this regard is fluidity between lenders and borrowers in the mortgage market.
"Whether it is from residential buyers or investors, the demand for buying has never gone away and the UK still has a massive shortfall of houses," he stated.
Figures published by Nationwide recently (July 29th) showed that the UK's average house price increased by 0.2 per cent last month.
