A dispute between neighbours has resulted in one individual being banned from speaking to the people who live next to him.

Graham Walker has been issued a five-year anti-social behaviour order (asbo) that prohibits him from communicating either directly or indirectly with the family who reside by him, thisisbeverleylocal.co.uk reports.

Asbos can be used against anyone who is ten years of age or older and has behaved in a way that was likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress.

He faces being fined and a possible jail sentence if he breaks this rule.

The legal move was made after his neighbours showed evidence they had recorded using a camera of him being abusive.

They alleged that the 44-year-old had committed a number of offences, including making threats and using a sledge hammer to smash their fence.

Police Constable Tracey Chaney remarked: "He is a neighbour from hell. I don't know how the residents have put up with him. If it was me, I would have moved."
