Divorces 'take time to recover from'

It can take a considerable amount of time for people to get over a separation from their spouse, it has been claimed.
According to a survey of divorcees conducted by fifties.com, the average period of adjustment is 17 months and 26 days.
However, a spokesperson for the site noted that individuals vary in their responses to such splits, with some finding it harder to cope than others.
The representative added: "Divorce is tough for everyone involved and it does take a considerable amount of time before you feel ready to move on."
It was discovered that six in ten of those questioned found a sense of failure to be the hardest thing to deal with, while 20 per cent reported that a sense of loss was more difficult to adapt to than the practical implications.
A study commissioned earlier this year by the Housing Federation revealed that young couples in the UK are delaying getting married because they cannot afford to get on to the property ladder.
