Drivers consider launching petition over parking tickets
A number of drivers from Maidenhead who were issued parking tickets for leaving their vehicles in their own street recently are considering launching a petition to complain.
The individuals were reprimanded for blocking a cycle path, the Maidenhead Advertiser reports.
They say that if they are made to pay up as a result of the tickets, they will try to force the council to signpost the area more clearly.
Group leader Jane Williams is among those who sent a letter to Councillor Colin Rayner, cabinet member for highways and streetcare at the local authority.
He confirmed he had received the correspondence and would be discussing it with parking officers.
Ms Williams said: "There are enough of us cross about this to get a petition going but we are waiting for Councillor Raynor's response before deciding on what group action to take."
Recently, thisisgloucestershire.co.uk revealed that nearly 30,000 parking tickets were issued in Cheltenham in the last 17 months.
