Employees 'now more interested in salary sacrifice schemes'
Posted by Mark Cunningham
An increasing number of workers across all sectors are becoming more interested in salary sacrifice initiatives on offer from their employer.
That is according to Matt Duffy, partnerships manager at Lorica, who believes the effects of the global economic downturn have sharpened the focus of many members of staff in terms of their eagerness to take advantage of benefit schemes.
Mr Duffy explained this trend has been helped by the increased level of media coverage on the topic, which has raised awareness of their existence.
"This has predominantly been around things like pensions, childcare vouchers and cycle-to-work schemes," he noted.
The expert went on to indicate this has had a knock-on impact on the recruitment sector, with more people now inclined to consider the benefits presented by a particular position.
Recent research by Standard Life revealed that 63 per cent of Britons think it would be impossible for them to live on a basics state pension.
