Expert: Housing prices unlikely to fall in 2011

People looking to purchase a home in the near future are not likely to experience a rise in process in the housing market in the coming months.
That is according to Stuart Law, chief executive officer of Assetz, who has said that the cost of residential properties will remain stabilised throughout 2011 and a slump is therefore unlikely in the aftermath of the worldwide economic downturn.
"All we are going to see is a mixed period which is not particularly going up or down," he commented.
Mr Law added that the lack of available housing in the UK will continue to support both pricing and rising rental costs, as more people will look to buy as opposed to renting a home.
This comes after analysis published by Fathom/Zoopla earlier this month revealed that the cost of residences will drop in Britain in the next 12 months, possibly by a significant amount.
