Expert: Strong demand for new homes remains

There is still a "strong" level of demand for new residential properties across Britain, despite the fact prices are continuing to fall.

That is according to Vernon Pethard, managing director of online resource New Homes for Sale, who believes many people are still eager to get their feet on the housing ladder despite the ongoing economic uncertainty.

Following the recession, prospective first-time buyers have generally found it tough to access the capital they need to purchase an abode because financiers have tightened their lending criteria.

However, research published by SmartNewHomes last week (October 25th) revealed that the average price of a new build property dipped by 0.1 per cent in September.

With this in mind, Mr Pethard explained that the outlook for this part of the housing sector is "fairly stable", while there is "no shortage of demand for property".

"We are a nation of homebuyers and the vast majority of people have aspirations to be homeowners," he added.ADNFCR-2353-ID-800783044-ADNFCR
