The majority of people in the UK are eager to leave their inheritances to their family members, it has been revealed - although pets, charities, the church and friends also look set to benefit from such generosity.

As part of Write a Will Week, which began on October 25th, research from information portal unbiased.co.uk has found that 87 per cent intend to bequeath their belongings to relatives, while 1.5 million are keen for their cats and dogs to receive some cash as well.

However, although 92 per cent do have an idea of where their worldly goods should go after they pass on, more than 30 million people do not currently possess a will.

Chief executive of the organisation Karen Barrett said: "Drawing up a will doesn't have to be daunting or hugely expensive. Professional legal and financial advice from a solicitor and an IFA means you can get your affairs in order."ADNFCR-2353-ID-800217147-ADNFCR
