Family to receive compensation over holiday nightmare

A family who suffered serious problems when trying to take a holiday in the Alpine ski resort of Val d'Isere are to receive compensation for the inconvenience they experienced.
According to a South Wales Evening Post report, Fiona Griffiths set off with her husband and two children to Cardiff Airport on what should have been a straightforward journey to the location.
The area is popular with winter sports enthusiasts due to the fact it has 300km of marked piste runs and unlimited off-piste skiing.
However, their plane was diverted from Chambery to Lyon Airport and, upon arrival, passengers were told they could not disembark.
Ms Griffiths stated: "It was very frustrating and I don't understand why they could not unload us."
The plane travelled back to Cardiff and people were put up in a hotel overnight.
Early the next day, they had to take a flight to Italy and then embark on a long bus journey.
A spokesperson for Crystal Ski confirmed that money will be given to the travellers for the delay to their vacations.
