Flats 'set to become more popular in property market'
Posted by Craig Williams
A growing number of people looking to enter the property market in the near future will be doing so by purchasing studio apartments and flats.
That is according to Jane Marr, company director at the Little House Company, who said that such residences are likely to become the most in demand type of houses in the coming months.
Ms Marr explained this trend will be largely down to the fact that first-time buyers will be searching for smaller accommodation in order to "finally get a foothold on the market" as the availability of mortgage finance from banks remains low in the wake of the monetary slump.
"Investors not keen to overstretch themselves may also seek these types of property," she noted.
The expert went on to say that this will help to "breathe life" back into the property sector, while research published by HSBC recently showed that many people aspire to be homeowners.
