Four-year boundary dispute results in broken arm

A four-year boundary dispute has resulted in a Tarleton pensioner breaking her neighbour's arm, with legal proceedings seeing the 74-year-old ordered to pay almost £18,000 in damages and costs.
Terminally ill June Iddon - who was diagnosed with cancer in 2003 - hit Jeffrey Grundy with a spade, leaving him in plaster for 11 weeks and ultimately suffering from soft tissue damage and loss of sensation in one finger, the Southport Visiter reports.
Iddon was jailed for 24 weeks and later sued by Mr Grundy, who had to take six months off work after the attack.
However, the spinster has said that she will not hand over any of the cash "out of principle".
"I didn't damage him at all and I would rather die than give money to that man," she explained.
It comes after Paul Sanderson, 44, of Hilgay, Norfolk, was jailed for five years for hitting his neighbour across the head with a machete, following an argument over grass cuttings.
