Govt minister 'is committed to flexible working for mothers'

Mothers should have better access to flexible working conditions, it has been suggested.
Theresa May, who has been appointed home secretary and minister for women and equality in the new Conservative and Liberal Democrat coalition, said she is committed to implementing policies that encourage firms to provide such opportunities.
Speaking to HR magazine's editor Sian Harrington last month, she said that she wants the UK to become the most family-friendly place to do business.
She added: "I think it is absolutely right that [Cameron] has put the family right at the heart of [Conservative] policy."
Ms May went on to note that it is not only mothers who can benefit from flexible working, as many workers flourish under such conditions.
The politician is one of four women who have achieved cabinet positions in the new Tory/Liberal Democrat coalition, which was formed in order to provide the Conservatives with the number of seats they needed to achieve a parliamentary majority.
