The way in which the government is now working alongside the Future Forum in a bid to make its NHS reforms more suited to professionals in the healthcare industry is to be welcomed.

That is according to Dr Hamish Meldrum, council chairman at the British Medical Association (BMA), who has said the ongoing dialogue between the two parties represents a "refreshing experience".

Last week (June 7th), prime minister David Cameron looked to appease health professionals who had been unsatisfied with the government's attitude towards the UK's health service by announcing several changes to its proposed reforms.

Furthermore, the administration is now involved in talks with the NHS Future Forum and Dr Meldrum noted it is "vital that this constructive approach" to changes is "maintained in the following months".

"Obviously, the critical factor is now how the government responds, as well as ensuring that the detail of the changes matches up to expectations," he added.
