Graduate job prospects 'to improve this year'
Posted by Francesca Witney
Graduates could be set to experience improved conditions in the UK employment market over the course of the next 12 months, a new study has indicated.
Research published today (February 1st) by XpertHR revealed that more than three-quarters of all companies - 75.8 per cent - are currently attempting to recruit people who have completed a degree.
The annual survey - which has been running for 22 years and was based on the responses of 182 employers - also established that an even greater proportion of firms (88.5 per cent) are planning to hire graduates in the near future.
Rachel Snuff, author of the report, commented that like most other areas of the employment sector, the graduate jobs market has struggled since 2008 due to the impact of the recession.
Recently, the Recruitment and Employment Confederation revealed that many companies are willing to increase their permanent headcount during 2012 should the right candidates become available.
