Green measures 'can help drive down energy bills'

Britons may be persuaded to look more seriously into the possibility of implementing energy-efficient measures in their homes due to the rising cost of fuel.

That is the opinion of Andrew Leech, director at the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC), who believes the ever-increasing price of household bills will sharpen the minds of savvy consumers in terms of becoming greener.

Mr Leech explained that one of the "key factors" behind getting people to enhance their efficiency is them being aware of the large amount of money it will save them in the long term.

While admitting the purchase of such products is undeniably a significant investment, the expert insisted homeowners need to recognise the fact doing so will prove worthwhile both environmentally and financially.

Last week (October 5th), P&G's consumer education programme Future Friendly established that 69 per cent of all Britons would like to be greener, although many are failing to make the necessary chances to make this happen. ADNFCR-2353-ID-800755989-ADNFCR
