Home buyers 'should have information at their fingertips'
Those looking to buy a property should be able to benefit from a wealth of information in order to make an informed decision, it has been suggested.
According to Sue Anderson, head of member and external relations at the Council of Mortgage Lenders, it is only fair that transparent pricing should be implemented, while consumers may want to scour the various rates for the right deal.
She said that borrowers "need to look at all its features and not just the initial rate".
Ms Anderson stated that it is important people "know what they are getting", which can give them the leverage to assess all the available options before signing the best contractual agreement.
At a time when the Bank of England has revealed the number of new mortgage approvals has fallen recently, it could be said that lenders will be seeking to do more to attract discerning consumers throughout the UK.
