Housing market to remain 'static' in 2011
Posted by Helen Jones
Prospective homeowners looking to purchase a residential property at some point in 2011 are set to face a "fairly static" market.
That is according to Jon Brown, partnership manager at online resource I Am Moving, who noted that the current lack of high demand in the sector will result in the cost of houses staying around the same level for the foreseeable future.
Mr Brown explained that many Britons are now only looking to put their home up for sale if they can see tangible evidence that there are people searching for places to live in their region, while others are instead opting to rent out their dwellings as opposed to selling them.
This comes after research by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors revealed earlier this week (April 12th) that the country's housing market remained flat in March of this year.
Furthermore, the expert added that first-time buyers are unlikely to receive a significant amount of extra help from financiers this year.
