Jonathan Ross sues over alleged defamation
Jonathan Ross is taking legal action against a media organisation over an article which he claims was defamatory.
According to reports in the Guardian, the TV personality is suing the Telegraph Media Group - which is responsible for a number of publications, including the Daily Telegraph, the Sunday Telegraph and the Telegraph Magazine.
It printed an article claiming that celebrities rejected invitations to appear on his chatshow.
The story, which was published in January, was entitled "Daniel Craig leaves 'desperate' Jonathan Ross shaken and stirred".
It suggested that a number of celebrities, including Craig, had declined invitations to appear on the weekly TV show after Ross received his three-month ban from broadcasting.
Ross was given the ban as a result of content that was aired on Radio 2 which contained him and fellow celebrity Russell Brand leaving an obscene message on Andrew Sachs' answering machine.
When contacted, the Telegraph Media Group declined to comment on the issue.
