Landlords and tenants 'must communicate over sustainability'
Landlords and tenants must enter into a period of enhanced levels of communication in the near future in order to help each other deliver more sustainability.
That is according to Ian Fletcher, director of policy on real estate at the British Property Federation, who has said that there is currently a problem insofar as many property owners and their tenants do not speak to each other regularly or clearly enough.
Mr Fletcher stated that there is "no lack of activity in the sector on sustainability issues", but added that the problem is down to a lack of communication, meaning that the two parties are not "working together to deliver the best sustainability outcomes".
He was speaking following the publication of a report by GVA Grimley last week (November 30th 2010), which found that 89 per cent of occupiers across the UK are dissatisfied with their landlord with regards to their communication on this matter.
