Landlords 'must deal with tenant problems quickly'
Posted by Chris Stevenson
Landlords must strive to resolve any issues brought to their attention by tenants as quickly as possible.
That is if comments made by David Lawrenson, private rented sector expert at online resource Letting Focus, are anything to go by, as he believes it is essential for property owners to maintain a strong professional relationship with occupants of their properties.
Mr Lawrenson explained landlords need to remember the fact they are running a business, meaning efficient and friendly customer service is crucial if they wish to retain residents.
"It is about a close attention to detail, being able to respond quickly and getting things done as quickly as they can - that is what tenants really want," he said.
Figures published recently by mydeposits revealed the firm experienced a 15 per cent annual hike on downpayment protection taken out by professionals last month.
And Mr Lawrenson went on to say looking after tenants is "critical" to the long-term success of any landlord.
