Man seeks compensation for holiday injuries

News-no-image-original

A man who suffered injuries while on holiday is seeking compensation.

He was among 24 British tourists involved in a coach crash in Bulgaria and sustained bruising as a result.

According to his legal team, he could be in line for a payout of around £3,000 after a judge ruled that travel operator Crystal/TUI UK is liable.

The accident occurred in 2005 while the vehicle was en route to the ski resort of Borovets, which is located 1,390 metres above sea level.

Speaking to the Hunts Post, Mr Wilkinson said the incident had ruined his holiday and caused considerable distress.

He added: "I was stunned and couldn't talk. It all happened so quickly and was a very frightening experience."

Meanwhile, Crystal/TUI UK released a statement saying it places "particular importance" on safety and it is sorry that the crash happened.

It added that it recognises that the last four years have been "distressing" for the holidaymakers involved.
