Many consumers getting 'a raw deal on broadband'

Ylr-news-800033037

Consumers in the UK are not taking advantage of low-cost broadband access, it has been suggested.

According to Broadbandchoices.co.uk, many citizens are unaware of the savings that can be made with package deals.

Michael Phillips, product director for the site, responded to news of the latest Ofcom report into pricing policies for the service.

He said that for many people, high-speed web access is "the forgotten bill".

Mr Phillips added: "It is disappointing to see that half of UK households have missed out on the cost-saving benefits that broadband bundles can offer."

The expert claimed that consumers could save up to £210 per year if they purchase a bundle that comes with a landline and TV service included as extras.

Recently, PC Advisor announced details of a survey which showed that 81.3 per cent of readers believe the UK's high-speed internet connections are not good enough, with some respondents citing problems of accessibility in rural areas.
