Many firms 'anticipating positive lift among workers due to bank holidays'

Many employees across the UK are likely to experience a more pleasant working environment in the coming days due to the feel-good factor attached to the upcoming two consecutive four-day weekends, new research has suggested.
The Easter weekend bank holidays of April 22nd and 25th are followed shortly after by the specially designated day off to celebrate the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29th and the statutory May Day bank holiday on May 2nd.
This unusual run of events means that the majority of staff members will be at work for just three days in an 11-day period and a study published recently (April 18th) by BDRC Continental, has found that this is causing an upbeat mood among many smaller businesses.
According to the data collated by the firm, 30 per cent of all such organisations feel the positive lift this will create among their workforce outweighs the probability of bank holidays disrupting their output.
