Many landlords 'concerned over possible rental arrears'
A considerable number of landlords in the UK are concerned over potential rental arrears, new research suggests.
Conducted by Direct Line for Business, the study found that 30 per cent of such investors polled were worried about receiving payments from tenants.
In addition, more than one in five (22 per cent) have been losing sleep due to cash flow concerns.
It was also found that nine per cent of landlords have cancelled insurance policies in a bid to reduce their outgoings, while 16 per cent have altered their payment terms.
Kate Syred, head of Direct Line for Business, commented: "With high numbers of landlords cancelling insurance policies to save money, if something were to go wrong, tenants may still find themselves without a roof over their heads."
Recently, the government announced it is to launch a new initiative designed to assist people who are struggling to meet their mortgage repayments.
It will provide such homeowners with information and encourage them to speak to their lenders when they are experiencing difficulties.
