MP calls for car insurance price cut
Posted by Emily Swanson
Firmer action needs to be taken in order to reduce the cost of car insurance in the UK in the aftermath of the global economic downturn.
That is the opinion of David Ward, MP for Bradford East, who has described the problem of high premiums attached to such policies as a "national issue" that must be addressed sooner rather than later.
Mr Ward noted that even though many firms in the industry say they must increase charges in line with the number of personal injury claims they are receiving, recent times have seen a rise in drivers but a fall in crashes - and premiums still seem to be going up.
Recently, the politician called on members of his constituency to join him in the fight to make car insurance more affordable and added that it is "young people and new drivers who suffer most of all" from unreasonable costs attached to policies.
