Neighbourly dispute 'may endanger woman's life'
Posted by Richard Saunders
A woman has accused her neighbour of potentially endangering her life by erecting a bollard on their shared driveway.
According to the Watford Observer, Julie Preston, a senior care assistant, was diagnosed by medical professionals as having a complex problem with her heart called hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which can lead to sudden heart attacks, some 15 years ago.
However, following a dispute with regards to where she could park her car when it was not in use, her neighbour built a hinged metal bollard on the driveway - an obstacle which Ms Preston believes could prevent an ambulance from reaching her home should she require urgent medical attention.
"If an ambulance came there's no way a stretcher could get past his car and the bollard," she explained.
As a result, Thrive Homes - which controls the ownership and running of more than 4,000 homes in the area - has spoken of its determination to resolve the ongoing issue.
