A taxi driver who was issued with a parking ticket has had the fine refunded.
John Tyreman was dropping off an elderly customer at the Co-operative supermarket in Whitby when he was given a £60 ticket, the Whitby Gazette reports.
However, LDK - the company that manages the car park - claimed he had been doing his shopping.
The newspaper launched a campaign to prove that this was not the case and Mr Tyreman was issued with an apology and a cheque for £60.
He said the company "had the decency to admit that I was not doing any shopping, that I had dropped someone off and they held their hands up, so we have had a good outcome".
LDK's north-east manager Jackie Homer added that the firm investigates all appeals made.
Last week, the Maidenhead Advertiser reported that Theresa Farrell had her £40 driving ticket overturned after following confusion over parking prices in the area.
