Pay 'is not the only important thing for workers

While levels of remuneration are important to workers, they are not the only thing that motivates them.
This is according to Steve Huxham, chairman of the Recruitment Society, who said that other factors come into play.
For example, job security, prospects, training opportunities and career development are high on the list, the expert added.
His remarks follow the publication of research conducted by Harris Interactive, which revealed that pay is the main motivating factor for people when it comes to jobs.
Mr Huxham stated: "If you delved and did more detailed analysis, I suspect that most people would not look at salary alone in uncertain times."
He added that feeling confident that their roles will still exist in a couple of years' time is crucial for staff at present given the economic conditions.
Indeed, if money was taken out of the equation, job security would be the most important issue identified by British employees, he predicted.
