It is advisable that young people in the UK begin thinking about wills sooner rather than later.

This is the opinion of Mark Pearson, chairman of MyVoucherCodes.co.uk - in operation since 2006 - who said it is "extremely important" for individuals to consider the document, regardless of age.

The industry figure was speaking in response to new findings from the website that showed 48 per cent of 25 to 50-year-olds do not currently have a will.

Of these, 31 per cent claimed they were too young to worry about such matters, but Mr Pearson said he was shocked to see "many of the respondents who claimed they didn't need a will were parents, because if you do have children it makes getting a will sorted even more important".

The study revealed 24 per cent have not sorted out a will because they find it 'morbid' to think about, while 17 per cent have simply not got round to it.
