People in debt 'must not suffer in silence'
Posted by Emily Swanson
Britons struggling with financial worries must not be afraid to seek help for the issue.
That is according to David Rodger, managing director of charity the Debt Advice Foundation, who has urged people finding it difficult to make ends meet in the current tough climate to talk about their problems.
Yesterday (November 10th), the Council of Mortgage Lenders revealed that the number of properties repossessed across the UK increased slightly to 9,200 during the third quarter of the year.
This means that, so far in 2011, some 27,500 homes have been taken back by lenders - a clear sign that many people are finding it impossible to keep up with their home loan repayment requirements.
However, Mr Rodger insisted there is help at hand if individuals "take the brave first step" of obtaining free and impartial advice on how they can improve their situation.
"For anyone who is struggling please don’t suffer in silence," he added.
