Property dispute sees neighbour ordered to pay compensation
Posted by Emily Jones
A woman whose car was hit repeatedly with a brick by her neighbour is in line to receive £400 in compensation after her insurance company was left with a bill totalling thousands of pounds to repair the damage.
Matthew Edden launched his assault against Sharon Wakefield's Saab 93 as a three-year dispute over parking spaces came to a head, the Brighton Argus reports.
Pleading guilty to causing criminal damage, Edden - a plasterer - was handed a 12-month supervised community order and ordered to attend four sessions of an alcohol intervention programme, as well as paying Ms Wakefield compensation for the event and carrying out 100 hours of community service.
This follows a report in the Manchester Evening News of a man attacking his neighbour over the noise created by him placing rubbish in his bins outside his home.
James Corps was left with a broken wrist, three broken ribs and two black eyes following the assault.
