Property disputes more likely after 50?

The instigation of property disputes and arguments with neighbours is more likely after people reach 50 years old.

This is the conclusion of a study conducted by the University of Glamorgan, on behalf of TV station Dave, which also found that people older than this are more likely to spend time worrying and complaining than younger demographics.

It was also found that the number of times people laugh decreases as they get older - at 20, they laugh four times a day, at 30 this climbs to five and by the time 50 is reached, chuckles are heard three times a day.

Researcher with the university Dr Lesley Harbidge remarked: "It's important to remember how good laughter is for you. It releases endorphins and a little laughter every day goes a long way to reducing stress."

Her comments come after the Southport Visiter reported that a 74-year-old had been ordered to pay nearly £18,000 in damages and costs after breaking her neighbour's arm in a four-year boundary dispute.ADNFCR-2353-ID-800109318-ADNFCR
