Property disputes with neighbours often involve wheelie bins, a new study has revealed, with over one in three families entering into arguments with others on their streets as a result.

Conducted by Bin Buddy, the survey found that litter or waste receptacles were considered responsible for more than one-third of fights, with one in four admitting they have put some trash in someone else's garbage can because theirs was too full.

What's more, one in five have put bins out days before the collection date in order to get it out of the house.

Jo Gosden, spokeswoman for the company - which sells a fragrant powder in either Berry Blast or Citrus that can be sprinkled in trash cans to remove odours and kill insects such as wasps and flies - called the matter a "real bone of contention", stating: "There's nothing worse than living next door to someone who has overflowing and smelly bins, which you can smell from your garden."ADNFCR-2353-ID-800088616-ADNFCR
