Rental property 'a safe investment'
Posted by Emily Swanson
People considering the possibility of purchasing property and then renting it out have been advised that now is the time to do this.
According to Chris Horne, editor at Property Hawk, investment in houses for the buy-to-let market appears to be a "sure-fire winner" in the present economic climate, as many people cannot afford to buy their own home in the aftermath of the recession.
Mr Horne explained that the outlook looks bright for all landlords for the foreseeable future due to a combination of factors, such as strong demand from tenants and the fact mortgage costs are likely to "stay historically low for a long time".
He added a growing number of buy-to-let home loan companies are offering packages, which is an indication of the health of the sector at present.
These comments came after research from Paragon found that, for the first time since 2009, the average landlord expects to increase their property portfolio over the next year.
