A new study has revealed that some 75 per cent of people in the UK workforce are not happy with the conditions of their current role.

According to research conducted by online recruitment company Monster, three out of every four workers across the country are unhappy at work in the wake of the global economic downturn, with 12.5 per cent indicating that they have had their salary reduced in the last year, the Press Association reports.

The survey - which involved questioning 2,600 employees - found that despite the fact that 40 per cent had suffered from problems such as stress at work in the previous 12 months, many indicated that they will not be searching for a new role in the near future.

Isabelle Ratinaud of Monster commented: "It is clear that the economic climate has had an impact on career confidence."

Meanwhile, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development revealed recently that 56 per cent of workers are concerned that they are not saving enough for their retirement.
