Research: Many Britons return from holiday unhappy
Posted by Emily Swanson
Many Britons return from their summer holidays generally unhappy with the quality of their experience, new research has shown.
According to a study conducted by online resource Go Compare, less than half - 39 per cent - of all travellers come home believing they have been on a trip that represented good value for money.
For instance, around 20 per cent indicated they will still be paying for their 2011 holiday in 12 months time, with 13 per cent noting they had spent too much money while away.
Jeremy Cryer, head of travel at Go Compare, commented: "Budgeting for a holiday should include some contingency planning for extra meals out, trips or gifts.”
The survey involved questioning 3,000 Britons and also found that 14 per cent get back home feeling stressed or tired.
Recently, Bob Atkinson of TravelSupermarket.com urged holidaymakers to check the small print of all-inclusive holidays before committing to any deal.
