Study: Millions of Britons work while on holiday

Millions of Britons continue carrying out their duties even when they are on annual leave from their job, new research has shown.
According to a study published by Vodafone, around 30 per cent of all professionals in the UK complete tasks such as checking emails, making phone calls and reading documents while on holiday.
This group indicated they believe their manager "expects" them to be available at all times, meaning they never switch their phone off and even drop into the office in order to catch up with anything they have missed.
Indeed, the majority of people stated they are unable to go more than four hours without finding out how much work awaits them when they return.
Peter Kelly, enterprise director at Vodafone UK, commented: "Just because an employee has the technology to keep them connected doesn't mean they aren't entitled to a complete break."
Recently, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development revealed that 48 per cent of all employees experienced a pay freeze in 2011.
