About 14 million of us will shop online for Christmas presents this year, but how much do you know about your rights?

Recent research by the Office of Fair Trading suggests many of us don't know we can cancel an order or how to get a refund or check the trader is meeting legal requirements.

To coincide with National Consumer Week (12 November), Consumer Direct and the Trading Standards Institute have published top tips to help you get a good deal when you buy on the Internet.

The tips include shopping around using price comparison sites, reading reviews of traders, checking your cancellation rights and making sure websites are secure before entering your personal information.
