Traveller confidence in New York 'has returned following 9/11'
Posted by Francesca Witney
Positive sentiment towards visiting New York City has returned among consumers nearly a decade on from the events of 9/11.
That is according to Vijay Dandapani, president of Apple Core Hotels and a member of the Board of Directors of the Hotel Association of New York City, who believes that travellers are once again completely comfortable when heading to the Big Apple.
Next month (September 11th) marks the ten-year anniversary of the terrorist atrocities targeted at the World Trade Center in the city, which saw thousands of civilians lose their lives.
However, despite an understandable initial reluctance from tourists to visit NYC, Mr Dandapani insists confidence in the location is back to the levels of before these attacks thanks to "robust and continual" recovery.
The expert went on to say that the "steady growth" of tourism in the urban area is "unprecedented" when taken in comparison to "earlier disruptions such as the first Gulf War in 1991".
